In today’s sermon, the rector of the Uzhhorod Orthodox Cathedral, Fr. Dmytro, sharply drew attention to the mass violations of the rights of UOC believers in Transcarpathia.
“Today in Uzhhorod hundreds of people have lost their jobs because the authorities decided they are of the ‘Moscow faith’,” he said.

He stressed: although the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Faith has existed here for 1150 years — pre-Kyiv, pre-Moscow — people are still fired simply for attending “that” church. Officially it is not admitted, but in practice they are squeezed out of work.
“What changes over all times? Nothing changes, because it is the same satan (as in Soviet times) — persecutor of the Church — who only changes methods, but his spirit remains constantly the same and unchanged. Uncontrolled, senseless, baseless hatred toward Christ’s Church” — said the head of the Transcarpathian human rights public organization “Pravozakhyst Zakarpattia”, protoierey Dmytro Sydor.
This is direct religious discrimination and persecution for faith.
