WHY IS PRIEST DIMITRIY SIDOR REALLY BEING TRIED? ANSWER: FOR A PUBLIC STATEMENT ABOUT CRIMES AGAINST ORTHODOX BELIEVERS AND THE UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH.

02.12.2022 – In a sermon, Fr. Dimitriy declared a series of crimes.

06.12.2022 – The SBU initiated an investigation into this statement to determine the criminality of the statement and the declarant (against the one who publicly declared the crimes, not the criminals mentioned by Fr. Dimitriy).

14.12.2022 – Simultaneously with the search of the cathedral, a pre-trial investigation was launched against Fr. Dimitriy Sidor.

What did the priest Dimitriy Sidor declare in his sermon that led to an investigation against him?

Please, here is the text of the sermon from the beginning:

“We ask God to accept our humble, small spiritual labor, for peace in the state, for peace in people’s souls, for the spiritual unity of the Orthodox, so that in this difficult time, when it is no longer a secret, and the opponents of Orthodoxy no longer hide, they openly declare their readiness, not just to beat and persecute individuals, to whom any crime can be pinned and fabricated! (There are masters of this now), but they also threaten the entire Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which, again, faces threats: to shut it down, seize it, disband it! And to deprive all people of the right to pray where they want, and by force drive them into a dead end, into that religion where there is a dead end…” That’s exactly it.

Here are the (alleged) crimes that Archpriest Dimitriy Sidor declared in his sermon:

  1. That’s how it is.

It was precisely after these words that law enforcement agencies took an interest in Priest Dimitriy. To this day, for the third year in a row, they act as if Archpriest Dimitriy Sidor is the one who broke the law.

He is being judged solely and exclusively for daring to publicly declare crimes against the Orthodox and the UOC.

FOR IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR CRIMINALS THAT, DURING THE COMMISSION OF CRIMES, EVERYONE REMAINS SILENT AND NO ONE DARES TO CALL A CRIME A CRIME.
